Morrillo is the Best Place for a Family Surf Trip Here are the Top 3 Reasons Our Guest Say Why:

Planning an international trip as a family or a group can be challenging lining up days off from work, school, sports, and life's responsibilities which we tend to overburden ourselves with. Hence, the need for a vacation - a break from all that. Days where we get to wake up in a unique setting and be taken care of by someone else for a change.
Once you make the decision to plan something special like....a surf trip to Panama, the dreams begin, the excitement takes hold, and everyone's in. You have 10 friends that want to join you and then, for all the random reasons of life, they slowly peel off. But the desire is still there, you've done the research and found the spot for you and your family:
It's Morrillo obviously!
You heard all the reasons the surf is great, it's reliable all year, every day, uncrowded, warm, blah, blah, blah, you have a family and everyone's idea of the perfect trip to Panama is quite different. So, a cheap hostel is out because you want A/C, your own shower, and someone else to cook. An AirBnB is out because you want someone else to clean, food shop, cook something different from your daily routine, guide, plan, drive, and you need gear! You want to focus on surfing! Not life just in a different place. A busy town with a branded hotel is out because you want peace, nature, and uncrowded waves so BAZINGA!
Morrillo is all that and more.
Rather than leaving it up to me to tell you why our resort is the place for a surf trip, with almost 1,500 reviews, we thought we'd make it simple and point out the top 3 our guests have said so.

If the whole family or group are expert level surfers and athletes with boundless energy, Morrillo will dish up 3 sessions a day for you. If you're human like the rest of us, the ability levels of the group include beginner to wish they were expert, and have interest in mixing up daily adventures.
Yes, surf, every day.
But how about a hike through a lush jungle to an incredible waterfall while watching for rare birds, monkeys, and lizards. Or perhaps snorkeling the reef of a remote island, fishing the tuna coast, learning an artisan craft like goats-milk soap making. Want something totally different and inspiring? Immerse yourselves in a genuine cultural activity with a family at their home: hike for miles back into the hills where a family lives surrounded by beauty like waterfalls for jumping and cooling off. Learn about how they live a sustainable life vastly different from your own.
Our guests have ranked that reason as the third most mentioned reason they love Morrillo. Something for everyone to do in addition to surfing, and a way to create a more memorable trip together.

You know the routine: wake early, load the boards in the bags, tie to the car, drive, search for parking, forget your wax, hope you remembered your leash, fin key and sunscreen, pack a cooler, fill the water bottles for drinking and rinsing, cold beers for the takeout, dry clothes for changing into, and a bucket for all the sandy, wet surf clothes.
At Morrillo Beach Eco Resort, you can skip all that. Just grab your board and go.
Just steps from your room, you have access to beginner to expert waves all day long - 8 different spots to surf all within a 25 min walk. Hungry? Take a break, recharge, and charge again. Need a cold beer? Yell up to the bar, they'll deliver to you! Choose the wrong board for the wave size - go grab a different one!

Morrillo is known for its consistent Pacific swell and powerful sandy bottom beach break waves but that's not what makes it special or unique. What makes it unbelievable is that within a 25 minute walk - a beach about 5 km long, there are surf breaks for all ability levels and it's all a soft sandy bottom.
And...NO CROWDS!
So, no matter how good the kids are or the parents or your friends, there's something for everyone but not with everyone. Surfing is a popular sport but there's only room for one person on each wave. So if the lineup is crowded or territorial and you've traveled far to get there, what was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime becomes a frustrating experience that leaves you wondering if all that time, money, and effort was really worth it.
With love from Panama,
