Where to Spend The Holidays in Panama

Ahhh, the holidays - it's on! Hustle, bustle, plan, spend, cold, eat, laugh, play, dream, and ... travel? Halloween candy bought, costumes planned, scary decorations up, only to do it again next month and the next. Phew! No wonder everyone needs a break. That's a lot of expectations we put on ourselves for the next few months all the while working, school, sports, and well, you get the point. Sure, it's a lot of fun but man, that is also a lot of work.

Not everyone chooses or even has the choice to travel on the holidays. It can be a tricky time with weather and family responsibilities but it's also conveniently at a time when you might be thinking I just want to do something different with the family this year.  And not only that, I would like for someone to make it all happen for me. Heyyy, I might know just the right person for you and that's me!

Family time is a great time anywhere (arguably some better than others) especially as the kids get older, these moments can feel very fleeting. To think there exists a place in the warm tropics where you can hang out, surf, kayak, watch amazing wildlife in their natural setting, go on authentic cultural experiences, eat amazing food, disconnect, and be kept safe all the while not having to plan anything, and not have to not drive anywhere, may seem too good to be true. But it's all here and we would love to share this place with you and your family over the holidays.

In Panama for Christmas, the tradition is to celebrate everything on Christmas Eve. The family gathers for a delicious dinner of arroz con pollo, rosca navideña (a fruit and nut bread), ham, and fresh fruits like apples, pears, and grapes to be exact. Dinner is served as the sun goes down, then as the kids go to bed, Santa magically arrives and leaves presents under the tree.

The children then wake up at midnight to open their gifts and everyone continues to celebrate all night long. Christmas day is spent resting in the morning then going out to the beach or the river to play in nature together and eat leftovers.

At our magical eco resort, we are far too tired to stay up all night but we do honor a good global celebration on this day no matter the motivation or beliefs of all the cultures we share our table with. Being surrounded by, and having a deep appreciation for the trees that surround us, we honor them by spending time beneath their fresh shade, learning, watching monkeys, and basking in their breezes after a good surf session, which this year will be at 9 AM in the morning.

After a solid lunch, an afternoon waterfall hike, and a traditional dinner served, we embrace the peace of a full belly, tired body, and head to bed for a good nights rest to be awoken by natures alarm clock and a full day ahead of surf (10:30 AM on Christmas Day, 2024), adventure, or a day to just relax on the beach and read a good book in peace.

We couldn't get by without something special for our guests, so you will also find a gift left by our team of local artisans, some handcrafted goodies, sauces, and memorable treasures to take home to remind you of this magical holiday spent in the remote jungle and peacefully uncrowded beaches of Morrillo.

So if you're looking for a magical place to spend Christmas. Our all inclusive packages make this travel holiday so easy, safe, and fun. All you have to do is email me and I got you and your family from there.
