Whoooo weeee! A big week coming up! Thanksgiving, Independence Day, Day of the Dead, Heritage Day, and Unity Day among others as many around the world get together this week to spend time with family and friends.
The 28th also marks Independence Day for Panama from 300 years of being ruled by the Spanish Empire from 1513 - 1821. If you're feeling a bit of déjà vu right now, I understand and I'll explain.
Panama has 6 national holidays two of which are independence days, celebrated in November. The 3rd is independence from Colombia and the 28th from Spain with other special days like flag day, colon day, and shouting day finding their way in between. Essentially, we get an entire month to celebrate this amazing country.
As the world mobilizes this week to spend time together, I get a bit nostalgic thinking of all the fun we have had with families that have stayed with us and also homesick for the great celebrations we had for Thanksgiving. Those were good times but now, we are sharing this magical place in Morrillo with international travelers for experiences like: releasing baby sea turtles, waterfall hikes, beach explorations, treasure hunting, snorkeling, surfing, soap making, and cultural experiences like bag weaving and sandal making. Where else in the world can you do all that in one place, without having to do all the planning and logistics? Nowhere. Because we're good like that.
You know how some family discussions over the holidays get to a point where you're trying your best to think of a subject change? I have an awesome idea for you: talk to your family this week about traveling together to stay with us in Panama and take over our eco resort - just your family and friends. We only have 6 rooms so it's easy to do with 12 - 18 guests to move in, take over, and let us take care of everything.
So, if you find yourself dreaming of a getaway this week, we still have one room available even if it's just for 1 or 2 nights. And, we have 2 rooms still available over Christmas for those of you thinking of experiential holiday gifts of memories that last forever much like the families pictured above have done. We are all here to take care of you and share our world with you.
Your Friends in Morrillo,
Cari, Ryan, Sam, Jorge, Amable, Nelson, Aaron, Pearce, Lia, Mirian, Sandy, Dianneys, Mariel, Noemy, Klowy, Max, and Princessa.
