Thanks for checking in on us, here's what's happening in Morrillo.

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

Dear << Test First Name >>,

Over the past few months of coffee on Sundays with you, many have kindly written back and asked about how we are doing in Panama. What's it like there? How is your business and your community? Well, it's not quite unicorns and rainbows but we are doing what we can.  We have some fun things in the works and are excited to tell you all about them!

We ask ourselves every day - what can we do to get through this? How can we protect our business, our employees, and ourselves? This area in which we live is incredibly beautiful and now with the rains everything is growing. While so much is beyond our control (the jungle grows FAST!), we are focusing on what we can improve, keep our staff employed, and create travel solutions for our guests when travel is possible again.

Our employees are all making the best of this time working in the gardens to improve our food sources for the restaurant, for the animals, and for the jungle. Planting over 100 trees like avocado, star fruit, bread nut, mango, limes, and vegetables too.

It's a good time in the world to be a puppy, a garden, or a baby turtle!

Speaking of baby turtles. As you know, it's that time of year here. The big mommas are doing their best to make it back to their one spot on the beaches here to lay their eggs where these cute little babies have a heck of a first day on the planet trying to get to the sea.Baby turtle video.

We are proud to be supporters of our local conservation group: Foundation for Water and Earth. In collaboration with them, we are creating interactive programs for our guests to participate in Sea Turtle education and cultural programs.

Our biggest project and a long term dream for us is our solar energy system. As projects are having to ease up on the gas or hit the brakes, we are still moving forward step by step so that one day the Sun will power our Eco Resort.

As we wait for the borders to open both domestically and Internationally, know that we are still here in Panama working hard to make this place amazing. Ryan and I, Remo and Tila, and our team are happy and healthy. We hope this is all over soon of course but for now, we would love to hear from you! Let us know how you are doing and what is keeping your light bright these days. Your Friends in Panama, Cari and Ryan Mackey Owners and Hosts Tilo, Celia, Carlos, Aurelio, and Patricia Morrillo Beach Eco Resort
