Why is Panama a great place to travel?

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

You can pack a lot in a country with an area of just 29,157 square miles. (75,517 square kilometers). A touch smaller than Ireland, or the State of South Carolina, there's so much to explore here that one holiday will have you longing for more and one lifetime is hardly enough to cover it all.  The idea of travel is to escape the stresses and monotony of every day life; experience new places, new cultures, and return home with a renewed perspective right? Panama, it turns out, is full of surprises. Many people have no idea why it's so amazing and all the secrets it holds.  Panama wasn't really on anyone's radar as a tourist destination until about 2011 but since then, the allure of this beautiful country is growing more powerful each year. From Sea to Shining Sea and all that lies between, here's why:

A great escape from the cold climate of the north. The water is always warm, the weather is hot and sunny during the summer, and the lush jungles come to life during the winter.

From Sea level to 11,401 ft (3,475 m). The varied eco systems provide diverse habitat for hundreds of species of birds, mammals, and vibrant plants.

Cosmopolitan City and Panama Canal. Panama City is one of the most cosmopolitan urban areas in all of Central America. From the modern International Airport to the Unesco Heritage site of Casco Viejo, to the Panama Canal, there is so much to explore and learn. The city also boasts great restaurants, hotels, and is easy to navigate using public transportation and taxis.

Happiest people on the planet. The people are friendly and the culture puts you at ease to travel throughout the country. The country as a whole is one of the safest in Central America.
