RESPONSIBILTY

CONSERVATION | COLLABORATION | CULTURE

From the moment we connect, you will get the sense of our passion and commitment to our place - the people, the animals, and the jungle that surrounds us.

We are about so much more than a hotel, a place to adventure, or a beach to relax on. We have tied ourselves deeply to the threads that bind us together as a community surrounded by nature and every decision we make, is guided by these principles.

Conservation through collaboration to achieve more than we possibly could alone. We are working closely with our local Conservation group - FUNDAT - Fundación de Agua y Tierra (Foundation for Water and Earth).

Together, with the scientists and educators of FUNDAT, we are all working tirelessly towards a mutual goal to conserve the Sea Turtle population and the nature around us in a way that will last beyond our years here and create a better world for those that follow.

Using a wholistic approach to combine conservation, education, adventure, and culture, we have developed yearly Sea Turtle Programs for our guests to experience.

By involving our community in our programs and our cultural activities, they are able to share the pride they have in this beautiful place, their heritage, and the uniqueness of Sea Turtles that grace their shores with our guests.

In this way, we are creating programs that impact all ages and backgrounds to not only surpass our years here but all over the world.

ACTION
To help conserve the beauty of the fragile nature that surrounds us, we are constantly evolving our strategies to support nature and our community.
Our two main areas of focus are Sea Turtle Conservation and trash mitigation as they compliment each other.
Our collaboration with FUNDAT is the most effective way to impact the global Sea Turtle Populations. Through our support to their organization and with their knowledgeable guidance, we are all able to be more effective and create  sustainable conservation programs.
Here are some of the steps we are currently taking:
  • Donate 10% of all reservation income of guests referred and studying at the foundation.
  • Host fundraising events to raise money for the foundation
  • Help collect donations through a Go Fund Me page to support FUNDAT
  • Host Sea Turtle Education Programs 3 times a year to educate and donate
  • Share experiences at FUNDAT with our guests to raise awareness and funds to support their programs.
  • Daily beach patrols to monitor nesting and hatching activity on Morrillo Beach.
  • Daily beach cleanup / trash mitigation for a cleaner environment and to be stewards of the land.
Sea Turtle

Sea Turtle Conservation Program

Conservation, Education, Culture, and Adventure.

Travel with purpose and commitment. This 8 day trip includes daily hands on experiences with trained marine biologists and environmental educators to learn about, protect, and assist Sea Turtles that are on the brink of extinction.
Participate daily in the release of newly hatched Sea Turtles as they make their harrowing trek to the Sea while protecting them from dive-bombing birds, hungry crabs, and beach trash. After spending the day with biologists and conservationists, guests rise in the wee hours of the night to witness nesting females make the exhausting crawl to the beach to lay their eggs.
To protect the eggs from their numerous predators, the eggs are then collected and moved for safe keeping to the nursery where they are monitored until the day they hatch for their release out to sea.
Throughout the trip guests will get to experience local Panamanian culture through interactive experiences in local homes learning about a truly authentic way of life here in the thick jungles of Panama.
Learn about the Panama Cutarras (sandals) and see how they're made. Take a dance class to learn traditional folklore dances and calls.  Fill your belly during a cooking class to learn how to create traditional delicious foods.
As if all of that isn't enough to get you seriously pumped, we have great adventures planned like a waterfall hike, snorkeling, and whale watching.
A trip to Panama is not complete without an experience to one of the 7 wonders of the world - the Panama Canal. On the departure day of our resort, we take guests on a guided tour of the Panama Canal prior to arrival at the city hotel for the night.
Turtles, whales, waterfalls, birds, monkeys, culture, Canal and exploration. This trip has it all especially lifetime memories. Each day guests rise early for a day full of incredible activities, good food, and beautiful accommodations in our Eco Resort.
